Andy Wooding – April 2018 update – Mr. Moonlight, Music and the Raindance Independent Filmmaker’s Ball

Hello, you wickedly wild, Portuguese geese,

I hope you’re cruising beautifully at your favourite altitude.

It’s been a fun couple of months since my last update. I’ve polished off a couple of projects, continued with some others, recorded new music, interviewed some cool people and enjoyed a little slot on the radio!

Fly on down for details! 🛫✈🛬👇

Mr. Moonlight
Our comedy project Mr. Moonlight is getting closer and closer to shooting. The series follows naive, clumsy fish-out-of-water Edward Moonlight as he attempts to navigate holding down a job in the busy, stressful city of London to look after his sick grandma. We’ve sketched out 12 episodes now and are putting together the teaser.

Here’s a slender snippet of test footage for your seeing circles. 👇👇👀👀

Soho Radio – This is Now Agency presents
I had the pleasure of being invited to appear on my good friend Adam Gainsborough’s Soho Radio show ‘This is Now Agency presents’ to chat about To Trend on Twitter and other exploits, as well as talking full-throttle nonsense throughout the show and enjoying some live music in the studio by the brilliant China Bowls.

Have a saucy listen at the link below! 👇👇🔊🔊🎧🎧

Raindance Independent Filmmaker’s Ball
I also had the pleasure of interviewing some lovely performers about their work, including X Factor‘s Sinitta, Motorsport presenter Kiri Bloore and In the Long Run actor Jimmy Akingbola…in my own silly, rascaly way, of course.

Have a little look at some snippets below 👇👇🤭

New Music
I’ve been working on a ridiculously broad batch of new music for my album Run and am now finalising the demos before recording the whole thing! A few song titles I can sneakily share with you: “Love Effects”, “Money Makes Us Cry” and “Yes You Are.”

Another pleasure is working with Too Many T’s genius Leon rhymes on a collab/side project that straddles rap, electro and guitar madness. We’ve sewn together a string of songs and are looking forward to showing them to you all soon!

I’m also putting together some cover versions of tunes by artists – old and new – who I like. Below is the beginnings of my rendition of Kali Uchis’s “Dead to Me” from her debut album Isolation, which I’m hoping to complete in the next couple of weeks.

I’ve been following her for a few years now and I highly recommend you check her out! Kali’s worked with some amazing people including Tyler, the Creator, Gorillaz, Thundercat, Snoop Dogg, Steve Lacy, Daniel Caesar and Bootsy Collins!

Right, gotta go, y’know?

Yours gorgeously,

Andy x
